Randy Plummer shot 826 on Thursday night to lead all 04-05 scores. Tony Fernandez (823), Dave D'Ascanio (800) & Eric Leduc (800) also rolled 800s
Baker Leads All Bowlers in Average
Scott Baker averaged 227 on Friday night to outpace Eric Leduc (226 on Monday) for high association average.
Association Scratch Team Record Broken Twice
In the state tournament, Late Nite Portland [Slowinski (278), D'Alfonso Jr. (226), Lestage (248), D'Ascanio (267) & Baker (267)] just miss a $500 bonus, for breaking the state record of 1298, in the state tournament
with a 1286 scratch team game. Earlier in the year, Talking All Trash [Bovoy (248), Nathanson (243), Goulding Jr. (279), Goulding III (280) & Sorrells (226)] shot 1276 in league on Monday night.
The previous record of 1252 was broken in the 03-04 season.
Slowinski & Leduc Just Miss Association Doubles Record
Joe Slowinski (722) and Eric Leduc (715) shot 1437, missing the association record by 5 pins, in their second place finish in the state tournament.
Talking All Trash Shoots 2nd Highest Series
In the final week of the season, in the G.P.M.N.L., Talking All Trash shot 3518 (1191, 1177, 1150),
the 2nd highest scratch series in association history.

The Maine Games is entering its 3rd year and bowling will again be offered
in 2005 and is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Yankee Lanes in Portland.

Bowler of the Year Race Is Tight
Josh Greenlaw leads both Tommy Young and Randy Plummer by three points with Eric Leduc in the hunt.

Nick D'Alfonso Jr. Elected to Hall of Fame
Dan Walker Bowls 300 in Back-to-Back Citys
Team Scratch Game Broken
Foster Hill Antiques (Bob Lorrain, Dick Leclerc, Jim Reilly, Bob Card, Mike Galen) broke the association Team Scratch Game Record with a fine 1252 game.
Bovoy Bowls Well in Vegas
John Bovoy missed the final of the Brunswick Shoot-Out by one match narrowly
losing by a few sticks on a solid shot. In the Eliminator, John qualified
in the 205 and under division earning his way through 4 rounds with solid
games of deuce or better.
A fiesty pocket 8-10 cost him the opportunity to move forward in Round 5.
Greenlaw Fires 3 700s to Earn City Championship
703(S) + 702(D) + 718(T) = 2,123
Mike Galen Shoots 297 in Summer Eliminator League
Mike Galen had the first 11 strikes in the summer eliminator league which features challenging flat shot conditions.
Association Championships Sees Scratch Team Repeat
One year after breaking the state record, Greenlaw, Tedford & Slowinski win 2nd Team Title in-a-row
14 Bowlers Shoot Over 700 in City Tournament Singles
Brenda Hoyt Breaks State Record
Hoyt shots 780+ to break state women's record
Tony Fernandez Shoots 832 (288-299-235)
Tony Fernandez was locked-in as he opened with 587 for the first two games. A pesky pocket 7-10 in game 3 cost him a shot at both the local and state records.
Tommy Young Shoots Second 300
December 2003 saw Tommy Young shoot his first 300 game as a YABA bowler. In fact, he was the first Greater Portland youth bowler to accomplish this in association history.
In mid-December 2004, Young connected for 12-in-a-row once again for his second 300.
Earlier, this season, he flirted with 300 but fell short with a 296.
Slowinski Earns Silver Certification
Joe Slowinski earned only the second USA Bowling Coaching Silver Certification in ME, NH & VT. Ray Libold (Waterville) is the other.
